The District Youth and Sports Authority has launched its annual athletics and sports summer camp in Nirmal, providing young athletes with an opportunity to develop their skills under professional guidance. The camp is designed to identify emerging talent and encourage sports participation among children aged between 8 and 15 years.
Experienced coaches are conducting training sessions in athletics, kabaddi, and volleyball, focusing on both physical fitness and technical development. Athletics participants are receiving instruction in sprinting techniques, endurance training, jumping events, and overall conditioning. Kabaddi and volleyball players are being trained in tactical awareness, teamwork, defensive strategies, and agility.
In addition to sports-specific coaching, the camp also emphasizes nutrition, fitness, and injury prevention. Trainers are educating participants on maintaining a balanced diet, proper hydration, and recovery practices essential for athletic performance.
Officials believe that early exposure to structured training can help young athletes build strong foundations and prepare for future competitions. The camp also serves as a talent scouting platform, allowing coaches to identify students with exceptional potential for advanced training programs.
Parents and local communities have welcomed the initiative, viewing it as an important step in promoting sports culture among youth. By combining professional coaching with fitness education, the summer camp aims to nurture the next generation of athletes and strengthen Nirmal district’s presence in state and national sporting events.
